The Arca Artes steam atomising desuperheater is used for cooling and controlling steam temperatures in process plants and power stations. They are used when velocities are too low for or process parameters and conditions are not suitable for the Arca Artes Injection Desuperheater.

The steam atomising desuperheater uses a 2 nozzle system with a laval nozzle principle where steam is used to assist in the atomising of the injected cooling water. The steam escapes from the nozzle orifice at a critical speed and atomises the injected cooling water into micro-fine droplets.
