About Cashco – 8900 Emergency Relief Vents

The Cashco 8900 Series Emergency Relief Vents provide additional relieving capacity when abnormal conditions exceed the capability of a tank’s normal vent. Designed for atmospheric and low-pressure storage tanks, the Series helps protect equipment against excessive internal pressure or vacuum while providing convenient manway access for inspection and maintenance.
Four models allow engineers to match the relief function and loading method to the application:
- 8910 — spring-loaded pressure relief
- 8920 — spring-loaded pressure/vacuum relief
- 8930 — weight-loaded pressure relief
- 8940 — weight/spring-loaded pressure/vacuum relief
During normal operation, the pallet assembly maintains a vapour-tight seal. Under emergency conditions, the vent opens to relieve excessive pressure or vacuum and then reseats when normal conditions return. Its air-cushion diaphragm design supports effective sealing, while the removable or hinged assembly simplifies access to the tank.
For technicians, engineers and production managers, this means:
